Stick ’em Quotes

This crafting project started with a few lines. I was all over Pinterest that time, hoping to get a spark of inspiration. Since I was beginning to get fond of catchy-deep-quirky quotes, I thought of turning those words into engraved/stamped messages

So one day, I made a list of quotes that I found online – those that inspire and those that make you laugh. 😉 I even asked my friends for a few witty lines since they never run out of humor and sarcasm. 🙂 With all sorts of lines sent and thrown at me, I narrowed them down to about 15 – 20. Those that made the list were turned into these fancy schmancy, odd, deep, and quirky magnets for Happy Buttons. Here are some of them:

Travel Diaries: LAIYA, BATANGAS

I can’t fully express the depth and urgency of my need to travel and get away from the city. Work has been a cause of my sadness and stress for the past months. It went from bad to worse just a few weeks ago when the timetable plus all the tasks just weighed down on my heavily.

I asked Daniel, the man I’m praying for/with, if it would be possible to schedule an out of town getaway just for a change in environment. We were blessed to be allowed and trusted by our parents to go out on a day tour in one of the famous stretches of beaches in the Philippines – Laiya, Batangas.

It was raining almost all week that I prayed so much and asked ADONAI to favor us with a clear, sunny weather. We were truly grateful for the sun, which wasn’t too scorching hot on our backs, the breeze that kept us cool, and the friendly staff of La Luz Resort. As a bonus, all the food served were kosher and it was a lunch and snack buffet. Happy tummies for Eeay and Daniel!

HappyBurrow_Laiya05Since it was Shabbat, we made sure to read and study about the parashah. So imagine while reading and discussing about Mattot, there was a cool breeze and the sound of lapping waves to soothe us. I have to be honest though, work and business kind of bothered us during this short vacation. Daniel did not get to do one important task that caused his client to call him on that day. I, on the other hand, could not resist to take product shots of my barefoot sandals since this is a beach!

So here you go, a few shots of my short vacation at La Luz Resort, Laiya San Juan, Batangas. Click each of them to see what I was up to yesterday.

Happy Buttons: Made in the Philippines

These are some of my clay creations under my brand, Happy Buttons. I designed and created each of them during those sudden outbursts of creativity and inspiration. 🙂

Recently, I tried incorporating small and large beads to my own work.  So far, it works nicely. The next big idea is to experiment with fabrics and gemstones and see how I can make them go with my clay.
